Our New Upper North Business Development Manager
We’re excited to introduce Amy, who has recently joined Kovacs Design Furniture as our new Upper North Business Development Manager. With a rich background in both travel and interiors, Amy brings energy, experience, and a love of great design to the team. Let’s get to know her a little better.
Can you tell us a little about yourself?
Well… if I must! I’m Amy, 46, originally from Auckland. I enjoy romantic walks along the beach and cocktails at sunset.
What drew you to join Kovacs Design Furniture?
The quality craftsmanship and thoughtful design. Not to mention the comfort level of every product, and how every piece looks amazing from all angles.
Tell us a little about your background before joining Kovacs.
Prior to the Covid-19 pandemic, I enjoyed a 20-year career in the Travel & Tourism industry, working across both outbound and inbound travel. My last role was as Product & Contracting Manager, curating coach tours for AAT Kings, Trafalgar and Inspiring Journeys. When the pandemic hit, I took it as an opportunity to change careers. That pivot led me into the commercial interiors and furniture manufacturing industry, where I spent the past four years as an Account Manager at Zenith Interiors.
What are you most looking forward to in working with our clients and partners?
I love the extensive range we have and enjoy the challenge of finding the perfect piece for each client. It’s so rewarding to see everything come together.
Do you have a favourite Kovacs piece yet?
The Rogue is a standout contender for me right now.
Where might we find you outside of work?
On the water, in the water, or by the water! You’ll often find me out on my boat fishing around Whangarei Heads, swimming at Ruakaka Beach, or relaxing by the pool at Musket Cove Island Resort in Fiji.
I also love making things – whether it’s cooking, woodwork, or trying my hand at a new craft.
